Tucson's will be allocated within the next 2 weeks. Rumor has it they are already at port awaiting final pricing (federal stickers and whatnot) port installed accesories. Unfortunately you can't pre-order them but if you are definatly buying one, I would make sure you are on the waiting list. I have heard that the first few groups will be a mix of front and four wheel drive 4 cyl. Then again, I also hear dthat they would be V6's. Can't confirm either. I can say the seat configurations are cool as hell. Easy to move, lay TOTALLY flat. Hyundai's next big thing is about to hit. BTW, I have be able to drive a V6 FWD and it accelerates like a Sonata. I didn't think it was sluggish. Then again, I am biased ;D The sales goals, in my opinion, are not too high, they are too low. Wow.

I got a Tucson brochure a couple of weeks back. Nearly 30 pages of cool illustrations and photography. Great eye candy!

Good news! Time to start checking my dealers inventory in a few weeks and plan that test drive. Hopefully my dogs crate will fit someway behind the rear seats so i can get her in and out of it. If and when they drop the lambda in there i will be waiting at the hyundai dealer. Of course by that time the new santa will prolly be out...decisions decisions!

Word is as of right now the first bunch will be fully loaded LX/GLS 4wd and FWD. I don't know why, but I do know that's what the Midwest is getting. Not sure about east coast and west coast.

The 2.0 4-banger is amazingly nimble on the pull-away, thanks to the CVVT. Also I found the car’s fuel consumption quite good on my 250km test run. The 4-banger will be available in stick & auto FWD only.

Well, on Canada you are probably right, remember I deal with the states only. ;D I can say though, they are cool in any form.

read on hyundaiusa.com site awhile back that HP, etc, could be subject to change, but at time of date, 173HP (?) for 2.7 liter V6, and 2.0 liter 4 was to be about 150 or so HP(?). Yeah, i thought they were due out in August, but a "new vehicle" mag said Sept.
Should be interesting to see.

There is currently a group in Oregon awaiting final pricing and port installed options. It ususally takes anywhere from a week to 3 weeks to distribute across the country. Hopefully they will start allocating and shipping here shortly. Last word on arrival at dealerships is mid to end of Sept start of Oct. Keeps getting pushed back. Very frustrating.

Because of the initial push of the GLS and LX Tucson's, a few more 4 cyl Santa Fe's have trickled into dealer inventories lately, for the economy buyers. However I find that unusual being that they will be priced about the same as a GLS Tucson. Whatever...

Quick side note. Production for export Tucson's started on Aug. 23. Found out why V6 will be the first to come over. Apparently there is some pissing match about the 4cyl. Both the 2.0L and the new 2.4L were used in testing. HMC wants the 2.0L in them. HMA wants the 2.4L. I think it's a little late in the game for this but who knows... Apparently the engines are easily converted as well as the build lines are seemless transition no there would be little time delay. I figure if they can, throw the 2.4L in there.
