Hyundai Sets New All-Time Sales Record in 2003 - December Sales Up 36.4 Percent
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Jan. 6 -- Hyundai Motor America today announced record sales of 34,716 vehicles for the month of December; up 36.4 percent over the previous year. Total sales for 2003 set a new all-time annual sales record for Hyundai in the U.S. -- 400,221 -- up 6.7 percent over 2002.
"Hyundai's record growth in the U.S. auto market continues because American consumers are focused on value. Each model in the Hyundai vehicle lineup offers real value in terms of quality, styling, safety, dependability and price," said Hyundai Motor America's President and CEO, Robert F. Cosmai. "For 2004, we hope the economy continues to improve and that our sales momentum will continue. Our dealers are excited about our new product offerings. The Tucson SUV will be added to our line-up in August," he added.
"Hyundai is only the fourth import franchise to ever exceed 400,000 sales in this country," said Edward F. Bradley, Hyundai's Vice President, National Sales.
