went to a newspaper that has car forums, and one lady was like' BUY USA, Chrysler, I liked my Dodge Stealth", etc. Well, when I heard her Flaming "foreign" cars, I ha dto drop the hammer(as us old guys used to say) on her "anit-foreign car" attack. I posted the link AND the story said the Stealth is same thing as Mitsubishi's 3000GT, except for exterior design and a few options, etc. And it was Built In Nyago(?) Japan! People are really ignorant beyond even what I had beleived. My fathe rin law intentionally drove a tracker(which he knew was a Suzuki) to his work at a UAW plant, so they would not flame him on a daily basis, like they did when he drove Toyota. Either people really believe that all "American" cars are made 100% in USA< without outside parts, etc, or they pretend. That lady? She also Bragged that "Chrylser makes perfect cars"(LOL!), the cars she owned were basically rebadged Mitusbishis!!(and I told her she must be the luckiest auto owner in the world to never have a single issue, not even a recall..especially sinc ee Mitsu hid problems for 30+ years). If they post that note, she will be shocked. I also mentioned that I read Hyundai will provide Chrysler the V6 for thier next gen sebring, ro whatever they are gonna call it. I really dislike these"Buy USA only" people( Buy from companies that are USA only) , when they say how great their stuff is, yet it was made inJapan, or Canada, by a japanese company, or now Korean, like Chevy Aveo. I could scream until my lungs burst some times at these "people".

yeah i know what u mean though... i mean im American but my mom and dad were born in Nicaragua... my dad was telling me why i dislike american cars... i told him im proud to be an american but im sorry to say that american company cannot make a car up to standards with the competition from Korean or Japan.. and he said well when you buy an american job you gave that person a job... well im sorry say but i don't like cars that fall apart and have shoddy material... i mostly don;t like american cars because of past experience with ford and GM cars... chrylser i have no problem with... a couple a years later my parents bought a dodge caravan and no problems and i like it so much i added DVD/mp3 player, and headphones with a 7 in monitor for my mom to compliment her minivan.... also i while back i used to see stickers on the window of some ford cars saying "built with pride in chicago" well that may be true but the quality itself is what really matters to me especially when the car's falling apart

eCkS, I agree on a lot of your points. I like getting a lot for the money I spend! Hyundai delivers a lot of car for the $$$, versus other cars that tend to charge more, and decontent their vehicles.
My spouse and I like Hyundai, too, due to thei runique looks(but, if spy shots of Sonata 2005 model are correct, we may have a Honda/Acura thing, whihc, IMHO, does NOT look as good as their current car, with the Jaguar/Benz lines). If Hyundai "loses" their unique looks....we may look elsewhere? Sorry to digress.
People are strange. I have friends and relatives who lived near Chicago, in NW Indiana. Anyhow, they are more annt-foreign cars tghan in my part of ohio, which has a sizable portion of people who are still farmers. In Dayton, though, where they have over 20,000 people working at the Air force base( yes, military people do not follow most "civilian ways, such as Buy USA, or One brand, in any given area of USA) they do not have any problems(at least not many) about people buying what they like.
Only State I know of where say foreign car owners are the majority is California. That must feel good, to NOT hear the bickering and arguing about foreign cars that you may own.
What gets me is that no one cries about tv being made overseas, or other elctronic stuff, or shoes, clothing, etc... I tell Buy USA only people to throw out their tvs, phones, etc, due to them most likely being made overseas, then, if all they want to buy is USA made items. I never had gotten a reply about that!

Yes. Then again... off topic... something that bothers me but I will not rant.. I will try to hold back:
CHILD LABOUR / UNFAIR-WAGE LABOUR.
ex. Disney, Nike, Adidas... they are monsters... Disney makes me the most mad, though... Man it could make you cry.

I went back to that forum, and NO ONE replied to the Mitsubishi 3000GT/Stealth person. They quit repsonding to me, because I use factual information to combat nonsense. See ya later.

OMG, exactly. I felt the same thing with these people. To them, people who bought non-American brand cars are like "evil" or something. Sometimes I go up to their sites just to see how funny they are. Grow up, Jesus, I wonder what kind of world these people live in.

My grandfather is a WWII vet. Would only buy Buick and Olds. This past weekend at my younger brother's wedding (thus no posting for 2 days) I see my grandmother getting out of a new Camry. Seems she talked him into buying an Asian car after both of their Biuck took a crap on them. He wouldn't buy an XG (he loves mine though) so that I couldn't rub it in. When I called him on it, jokingly of course, he managed to throw out every "jap" (sorry if offensive, the man is offensive) comment he could find. Oh, buy the way, Grandma insists when his GMC dies, he's getting an XG. ;D

spouse's grandfather and "step" grandma(?) saw our 99 sonata in 1999. They liked it. Grandma said she "can not ofrgive them for what they did in WWII(Japan). I said'This car is Korean!!!!" "We never fought South Korea".
She got quit suddenly.
People have various reasons. At va hospital, I heard 2 guys nearly 80 say they did NOT care if Toyota, Honda, Nissan sell and make cars here, just did nto care for Mitsubishi, due to them making the planes that attacked Pearl Harbor! I said I have a Hyundai, and they said too bad they did not get to bulid the plant in Ohio!
Most(say 66%) of military people I knew either drove foreign vehicles, or did not care what you drove. It was Cool , that part of the military was.
