Read this on a local newspaper site, this ? and lot of responses, so thought I'd try it here.
Yes, we have a garden, but not very large.
Have a few rows of white and yellow sweet corns, which are now betweeen 5-5 1/2 feet tall(rare around this this time of year, usually maybe 3-4 feet tall).
Have a few tomato plants, and a few are "white" tomatoes(less acidic, and do have a touch of yellow in them, but not a lot).
have a lot of pepper plants, like Habernero, cayenne, Anaheim Chili and regualr Chili, Purple and red Sweet Bell Pepper, Ballon red bell peppers(really Huge peppers) and Yellow Hungarian wax peppers. Have about 12 plants together of peppers (total).
Have some watermelon plants doing ok, but not too hopeful.
Have had broccoli already, and have red and green cabbage plants almost ready.
also have 2 brussel sprout plants.
Also have Papirika Pepper plants. they are struggling.
Have Stevia plant(sugar tasting leaves, with a hint of licorice). Lot s of places sold thses in 02-03, but struggled to find some this year. I use the leaves in coffee and stuff. Really strong, and good for diabetics, or people who do not like to use refined sugars too often.
Anyhow, do you personally(or have a friend/family member) who has a garden?
It does take some work, but, since I do not fish liek I ued to, this takes up my time now. What is cool? I do not need a license to grow veggies! Also, do not need to drive 20 miles to get nothing but mosquito bites! I walk 50 feet, water the plants, and pick the stuff when it is ready.
Fairly easy, and cheaper than the store, overall.
Have a good week folks.
Will be busy here, and the heat is returning(good for garden, bad for me. I dislike anything over 60% humidity and 80 degrees).
Oh well.
