hey folks,
if anyone owns a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 6SPD, I have a question for you.
When you put in an actane level 87 gasoline, do you sometimes experience a idling rpm of around 1200RPM? Usually, the RPM at idle is at around 800, but for some odd reason, the idling is at around 1100 to 1200 when I put in 87 octane level gasoline. The gasoline is provided by Exxon. By the way, I should mention that I have 3900 Miles on the car, and I just did my first oil change with Mobile 1 Synthetic Oil..

I can't quite help you.
Simply ask your dealer, although probably someone will join the site before too long that can help you out, who is a 2004Tibby owner...

Okay, I think I found out why this is happening.
First of all, before I put in octane level 87, I had 100% octane level 92. When I was low on gas, I put in octane level 87 to try to save some money. These are both Exxon gas. I now have 4250 miles on the car, and I have been consistently putting in octane level 87 by Exxon. I have absolutely no problem with idling. I think the idling problem occured because two different octane level gasoline were being mixed. I have absolutely no problem with the car, and I am slowly breaking it in. Soon, I will unleash this bad boy! Let's see, starting with the cold intake.....hmmm....nice~

If you want to customize it, keep checking with you Hyundai Parts dealer. Hyundai will be starting the H.A.R.D. parts program very shortly. That way you can buy cold air intakes, superchargers, turbos, and other performance parts dealer direct. Backed by Hyundai, built by Alpine Development from South Africa. Most of the parts will be warrantied by Hyundai. NOS and stuff like that won't be. To give you an idea, with the supercharger ($1300 M.S.R.P.) and cold air you will boost output to 260 Hp and 260 lbs of torque. Just please don't put one of those crappy farting exhuast pipes on it. No need to make it sound like a crappy little Honda.

Also, I have an 03 Ultra sports pack3. I always use 90 or higher octane. Wait till that engine get about 5,000 miles on it. It will transform. Seems like that is about the time the 2.7L lossens up. ;D

Hey folks,
I now have about 4600 Miles on it, and I am slowly breaking it in. I have a question for ALL: To what RPM should I rev it to? I don't want to floor it, but want to moderately press the gas so that the computer in the car can be set up for performance.
Also, please let me know more about the Hyundai supported H.A.R.D. upgrade systems. I am very much interested in them. Cool...
