It will still be called XG.
This is what we do currently know, although the codename is TG.

One person had a concern that this was the Korean version of the Sonata... but, altho the grill looks like a Korean Sonata grill I have evidence against this theory:
1) First 2005 Sonatas are not from Alabama plant; they are from the Korean Sonata plant, so that means there must be only one Sonata
2) Hyundai jsut doesn't yet need different Sonatas for different markets like Honda does for the Accord. Also, in Korea, people are jsut happy with spec-ed up North American-style Sonatas with cheesy chrome-work...
This is the new XG, then, people.

No, it will not be called XG in the U.S. XG is the project name of the current generation car. HMA was looking for a new name in one focus group study.

I know, but Hyundai will probably shicken out last moment. They need a long-term name that won't die out. Atleast XG is somewhat a known name for the brand now.

Great find!!!
The twin exhausts and apparent provisions for nav display suggest that we may have a major upgrade in the works here!!

it appears that this car is way too similar to 2005NF SONATA, to be a new XG.
This is a bad theory, tho, as the next XG, will be an upscale Sonata, really, anyway, albeit sportier, too.
Same with the next Mistubishi Diamante- larger Galant.
ITS THE NEW XG.

It's undoubtedly a covered TG. The reason the read count of this thread is extraordinarily high is that I put a link to it on a popular Korean car forum and some other people did the same on other forums. Many people working for the supplier companies check the sites regularly and none of them disputed it.

New Hyundai V6 engine ...is 3.3L 229bhp and 3.8L 247bhp... It`s bad news?

hey, if the next gen V6 is 229HP(most likely for Sonata) and the 247 for (probably) the "XG", then what of 4 cylinder for Sonata? Read it may be a 2.4 liter with 160 HP?

Yes 160 HP is correct. DaimlerChrysler had them develop this engine, too.
They could prolly tweak out a little more power later though, too.

I`m Korean and I came to Australia few month ago... and I can`t write or speak English well Please understand Maybe amanti and tg will use V6 engine probably sonata use new v6 2.7L vvt and L4 2.4L. Somebody think 2.4L engine is 160bhp but mostly it`s wrong information... because DaimlerChrysler L4 engine and hyundai new engine is different engine ... DaimlerChrysler and Mitsubishi will use same to hyundai engine... but firstly hyundai will use L4 engine ...
