do we have any info on the next gen Santa Fe..? i heard rumors a while back that it will grom to be about the size of a Ford Explorer... if that happens though wouldn't that kind of steal sales from the Terracan..? unless the Terracan is as big as the Nissan Pathfonder Armada or Toyota Land Cruiser... then it shiuldn't be a problem...

Well, it will be car-based, so Toyota Highlander dimensions. The Terracan is truck based and IT takes on Explorer-type vehicles.
See, eCkS: in 2005/6:
MIDSIZE truck-based: 4Runner, Explorer, Terracan MIDSIZE car-based: Highlander, Freestyle, Santa Fe

Terracan will never see the U.S. market. It was offered by HMC to HMA as an 03 model. It was turned down because in our opinion it was a step in the wrong direction. Compared to the Santa Fe it lacks the refinement, functionability, apperance and uniqueness that the Santa Fe has established. The new Santa Fe will be built off of the new XG platform. It will be Explorer/Pilot size with an available 3rd row. There is still a debate of whether or not to offer a V8. It is already headed in that direction with the removal of the 4 cyl engine from the line up.

WHAT..? I absolutely love the Terracan's rugged looks...WoW man what a shocker (at least it is for me) that it won't be coming over but a bigger Santa Fe does sound nice...do you have any info on that V8..? will it be from the Equus..?

I like the type of antennas hyundai is using on the 04.5 santys and 05+ models. Wonder if its the same antenna as the nissan murano? Just trying to get the santy part of the forum moving a little.

I noticed it a few months ago on hmaservice and my dealer started getting santys with the new antenna about a month or so ago. Its at the rear of the roof just like the new tucson, rio/accent, nf, and xg.

It isn't the same antenna as the morano. The morano has a wire wrap and the santa fe doesn't. The reason for the antenna change is to start a new apperance theme. The tucson, Santa Fe, new gen Elantra will have it if it doesn't in a year. The accent will too. Just an image thing.

megadethmartyr, could you send them via email? I won't give them out, and you can trust me on that. Either way, don't feel pressured. Thanks, megadethmartyr!
