(03-01) 09:53 PST GENEVA, Switzerland (AP) --
FIFA signed an eight-year sponsorship agreement with South Korea's Hyundai Kia Automotive Group to run from 2007.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter and Hyundai chief executive Kim Dong-jin signed the contract during the annual Geneva International Motor Show, FIFA said Tuesday.
Hyundai and its affiliate Kia Motors Corp. will have main sponsorship rights to all FIFA events between 2007 and 2014, including the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. Hyundai also will be FIFA's global transportation provider.
Hyundai is the second company to sign a new, longer sponsorship deal with FIFA, after German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas.
This should hopefully increase populatrity.
