Actually, Kia wants to build a special edition of the new Rio exactly like the one shown off at Paris, 200 hp, fender flares and all. It would be designed to take on the new VW GTI and Peugeot 206 GTi, not to mention, if we're lucky, the SRT-4 in the US.
Keep your fingers crossed.

Hmmm, if that special edition went after tC! (tC selling over 5000 per month right now, sold over 6000 in July)... say a 3 door/hatch sports cars, 160 and 200 hp typs, AS quiet(and as good of materials, et al as tC) for say 16K vs 17K(for automatic).... they;d really grab attention!

Actually, even as a five-door hatch for the right price (say, $18-19K loaded) it would grab attention. My 2004 Dodge SRT4-owning friend is about to pick me up, and when I told him about the potential super-Rio, he said that a car like that would definitely rank high on his consideration list. If Kia can grab the attention of the SRT4 crowd, then you know they're doing something (quite a bit, in fact) right.
