It has yet to grow on me. Sorry, but that dash looks cheap, even though it is a fairly well-built interior. Take steering wheel for example. The Hyundai LOGO is just impressed into the plastic middle bulge, there is no chrome-effect one stitched on or anything...

the instrument panel and shifter look good, but the dash/steering wheel could use a bit of work. hyundai needs to get wheels that look a little more...upscale

Yes, I suppose.
But you can barely critisize Hyundai, because one day it has THIS steering wheel, the next it has a whole DIFFERENT steering wheel. Really, it is as if everyday they are cleaning their act up even more...

Yes i would also vote for a better looking steering wheel and a compartment above the vents with a lid not just an indentation in the top of the dash.

Thanks for the warm welcome AJ! ;D Im currently obsessed with the new tucson and i save every pic i can find of them. 122 pics so far! Im a previous hyunie (prounounced who-knee )owner and i regret everyday selling my elantra. Hopefully we might be able to add a tucson to our list of cars later this year or early next year but until then i look forward to sharing all my hyunie knowledge. ;D

i don't like the area around the shifter... it looks like theres too much room around it and it looks plain...the other thing i don;t like is that there' no chrome "H" on the steering wheel...other than that i like it...

yeah, the plastics kind of scream "tupperware"(like Saturns had inside at one time, may still have). The shifter/dash is like Element's, and xB(?). That set up is ok(stereo/shifter ,etc). Maybe it looks better in person, can see "graining" in the plastics? My Sonata has beige,99, but it does not look like this plastic. We shall see in about 6-8 weeks.

Hmmm, You sound very much like myself. A colector of the same. I've decided to put together a quick website that will display all those unique that I have. Just added a few more this past weekend from the California Anaheim Auto Show. Will add a link here when I get it all done.
