will not look at it. My father-in-law has no problems buying any brand, as long as it qualifies as(80%content) "domestic" vehicle.
he got excited about the Tucson, until he found out it would be made in S Korea.
He also liked that "Kia truck" from the autoshow, but it is just a concept, for now(and even if made, may nto be made here,. Kia has hinted if sales keep going up, say to 300K, they may be building a truck/suv plant in USA; sqaves on that 25% tariff they have to pay for shipping trucks here).
I wonder how many more are out there like my father-in-law; would buy HyundaiKia stuff if most was made here?

even tho Canadian made vehicles are great, domestic cars are not as good as South Korean ones in terms of being built.
I must say it WOULD help, but S. Korea is better than USA for building cars ANY DAY (for the most part)...

In my father in laws part, it is not so much due to build quality as this issue with h im of "keeping jobs in America, or creating jobs here". This is why he did not look at Sorento or Santa fe, etc. He also , now, seems to be on a buy used stuff kick, and buy it locally from the guy who has 15 cars on the lot.
