at the auto show in toronto, when I was there, the Amanti was a hit.
Some of the many Comments i heard were: -HOLY CENSORED! -Big and BEAUTIFUL -Look at how amazingly crafted this is! -Hey, its that new Kia luxury car! -Very comfortable. -This has everything of a $$$60 Grand Car! -You'd think it was a Jaguar! -This is incredible! -I want one!
........... i only heard one bad thing, and it was the concern for engine reliability...

sounds like Kia got hit in Canada... here in L.A it didn;t get much attention.... all i heard was "the front lights are a ripoff from Mercedes..."
I like the car but if i had the choice of car between XG and Opirus; id got with the XG all the way; the Opirus is incredibly safe with curtain airbags and rear airbags....i wish t he XG had that and a more powerful engine....
also why is it that the koreans can;t develop an engine with reasonable power, torque, and mileage..? i like the delta engine in my car but Nissan's 4 banger gets close to 170...?

Well Hyundai has never been great with engines.... they are still inexperienced in this area and don't know the modern techniques and more accurate ways of tuning engines...
it's a shame but they are starting to work on this as we speak!

LoL to day i showed my sis the Kia Amanti brochure and covered up the "Kia" logos and showed it to my sis; then i asked her which car it was abd without hesitating she's like " isn;t that the Maybasche..?" im like " NO, it;s pronounced M A Y B A C H, and no that's the Kia Amanti" and then she's like *CENSORED* that's a nice Kia....LoL just thought i should share that... looks like Kia's got a hit with my sister as well.....
yes we should see many changes as soon as we get the new engines ;D ;D ;D
Theta and Lambda POWER.....(i hope)

If I had the cash, I'd have a Black Amanti , loaded, now.
Lot of people checked it out in Dayton Ohio at the end of March. Biggest comlaint was MPG, but I tol d the couple(I was in drivers seat, and a guy jumped into passeneger side, and his wife/girl firenmd looked in) that the car weighed over 4000 lbs and the y freaked out. I told them this thing should not crunch up like smaller cars if hitting a "big' suv, and that "sold them" , I think.
The guy did NOT know that the "wood" trim was fake, either, until I told him.
People definitely looked at the Amanti! Only Santa Fe garnered more attention(out of the HyundaiKia group, in the "2nd" shworoom). I noticed sine Hyundai has gained sales, and respect(same for Kia), the Main Floor is now "off limits" to these 2 brands, unlike in 99, when Hyundai was Main Floor ,next to Nissan.

saw one (black Amanti) by college, and it even threw me, from a distance, when it turned the corner(I actually thought Benz, at first). The driver was going slowly, trying to gauge reactions.
It is the first one in my area I have seen on the road. I think I have seen 3 so far, in Ohio.

I like the exterior a lot. I love the interior. I drive a lot of miles, and i like the look of wood trim (even if its fake, so long as its convincing) and the feel of leather, and the solidity and silence of the vehicle. It will be my next car.
