The car on the left with the 5-spoke alloys in the first picture looks best. I'm just not a big fan of the "Aveo style" wheels. Heck, the current Accent is fine because it comes with side-curtains.
I hope the upcoming Accent has: -side airbags -cruise control -optional 6-speaker Infinity sound system -VVT -5SP auto/5SP manual -available 15-16" alloys -available 5-door hatchback to compete with Aveo

ACtually, the only Hyundai with side curtains is the Tuscon. The accent's side bags are seat mounted.

Well, actually you are thinking ahead. Currently Hyundai is the only non-luxury manufacturer that has front and side airbags as standard equipment. The expect the 05/06 model to include curtains too. The Tuscon is starting it off with 6 bags. The Santa Fe should get them in 05, and I know the Sonata will have them, XG too. Only one I don't see getting them is maybe the Tib. Where in the hell can you put them, furthermore, who would they be for? WHo really wants to sit in that back seat?

They say in the article on some sites about next gen accent" Lightly based upon the E3 Geneva show car". 1) Lightly is right! I don't see anything on that car that resembles the E3, like No suicide doors that look like 2 doors vs 4, no elongated lights heading towards driver and passenger, and on and On I could go.
2) This is better than current Accent, BUT, it is pathetic compared to the E3 they had shown.
Everyone else is making their concept cars reality . Why not Hyundai?

I kind of agree with "mee"(I feel silly saying that, lol). E3 was wild looking and I bet could sell close to 80-100K units. Accent has sold around 65-70K units at one time for a year, not too long ago. If they made this thing say the size of my old 1990 sentra xe(2,109lbs), and 169 or so inches total length(versus the 163", or close to this) for the next gen(rumored 163+ inches total length of car) Accent, I mike consider one. Something the size of spouse's 01 tibby is small enough for me, especially considering suvs and trucks getting larger/staying large. if it were 1990, when most trucks were the size of S-10's and "suvs" were Tracker sized, Accent would be acceptable on the roads, to me.

How did you get a B12 Sentra to weigh 2100 pounds? I used to have an '88 4-door and that weighed 2300 pounds, same as my 2000 Accent 4-door. The old Excels weighed 2100 pounds or so. The bump in size on the next-gen Accent should make it about the same size as the old Mistu-powered Elantras from the early 90s, and leave a hole at the bottom of the HMA lineup which could be filled nicely by bringing in the Getz.

2 lazy 2 sign in. www.edmunds.com/used/1990/nissan/sentra/1541/specs.html?tid=edmunds.u.review.leftsidenav..6.Nissan*weight of 2 door sedan, Sentra 90 xe, 2,208lbs. My owners manual had stated 2,109. This is still less than that 88 you mention, by 92 lbs. My manual also stated I had 90-hp/97 torque, and here on link it states 96 torque. Maybe the coupe was 2,109, I dunno? My book said 2,109, and I beleived it until I looked at this link above. Seems to be 99 lbs more than I thought, and 92 less than you may have thought? Both of us wrong, then, it appears.

I read a few years back about Getz possibly coming to USA in AutoWeek, and same for a Nissan minicar(forgot name) and Toyota Yaris(is that the Echo?).....
This was right before ECHO came out.
One thing EPA of 31 for automatic on the sentra? Try 33 mpg avg after 10,000 miles of breaking in.
I got 41+MPG on a straight 55 mph trip, 240 miles round trip, from myrtle beachsc to columbia zoo, and back, when i was in US Coast Guard on a vacation break, in 1992. I used to get 35-37 mpg , driving hwy 17 south (round trip of 75 miles daily, mainly hwy, 80% hwy) to the us coast guard abse and back. In real mixed, say 50/50, I still got 32-34mpg.
That thing is waaaaaaaaay off on that link, saying avg 31 mpg, maybe if I drove 95 MPH daily, it'd have gotten 31mpg! It rarely(in below freezing temps, which was rare down there) got 29-32 mpg, but annualy, say 33+ mpg. OK, continue on... DAV

Look closely at the front wheel arch of 2006 Accent. Nice bulge (wheel-arch flairing) that should give it a chunky look considering its tall stance.
ps. Yes, Yaris is the Echo's other name. (Vitz is the other name)
